Why do people think that the world will end soon?

There are major changes happening now and it's high time for them to come about. But some people interpret these changes to be catastrophic and that is by looking through a lens of fear. Others see them to be changes of acceleration of great love. It's the dividing of the way of two extremes. That makes learning accelerate because we are all sharing the same earth.
