How to fit a reverse osmosis?

I'm trying to get a reverse osmosis {a water filter} but my dad keeps telling me it wouldn't fit we have a washing machine and a tumble dryer. They are next to each other and he told me it would be too difficult to move them out of the way and it wouldn't fit is there a way to install one while avoiding this or is there a shape or size/
