What should I do if I was robbed at my college?

This Tuesday I was robbed on campus at gun point after leaving cl. I was walking to my car when a guy with a rifle approaches me and ask me for money and proceeded to take my pocket book. I was upset because I was robbed right by campus police. After this happen, campus police apologize to me and said that he saw me walking to my car and he ume that I was going to be okay. My concern is that is this negligence on the school behalf. Especially, campus police was aware that other robberies had happen on the same street at the same time. I just learned this after the fact,
