Are these instructions good for cleaning gummed deposits from old fuel in a lawnmower?

"Take the air cleaner off the carb. and spray the cleaner in. Give it a good shot of cleaner wipe up the excess with a rage and then start the motor. If it runs reasonably well spray cleaner a little at a time in to the carb. This is moderately dangerous as the motor is likely to backfire and nearly die out, and the spray can catch fire as you spray it, but if you do it carefully you might get away with it. The safe thing to do is to take the mower to somebody who know what he is doing. Trust me it is worth the money and you won't get hurt Don't be offended but if you have to ask this question you shouldn't be taking the thing apart."
